So Close, But So Far Away!

So Close, But So Far Away!

So I was filming Episode 25 tonight (I find I function better when not under the influence of prescribed Codeine) – and was powering along and liking what I was doing. (Not to mention, filming Episode 22, 23, and 24 – I have been learning some tricks in NWN1 that I think is going to enhance things!) – anyway – as I am sitting there filming – suddenly Fraps stops capturing. And I can’t figure out what happening. Finally I ALT TAB out of NWN1, and get welcomed by a message where my computer is essentially screaming for mercy – because I only had 13 Megs of free space. Yes. Thirteen MEGs You see, Episode 25 has a lot of scenes in it. So now, with still a page and a half to film – what was I to do?

Well I ended up UNinstalling a lot of programs that I rarely used to make SOME room. Then I launched our convertion program of choice, which is River Past’s Video Cleaner and began converting the 60 scenes I had thus far shot. (Naturally not all the scenes make it – some are the same scene filmed from different shots, to either pull from both, or to see which ones comes out better kind of thing). Now if you have used Video Cleaner, you know the convertion process takes a very long time (the only downside really to the program, as it’s pretty nifty and has fixed corrupt videos I have had before).

So I am basically going to let that run all night, and all day tomorrow (and probably all night tomorrow). Then finish up filming on Saturday (even if it’s not done by then, there will be clips I can delete to make room for more filming).

(Of course, it doesn’t help that I burned ALL of my CDs onto my PC and have 38.8 Gigs of music…)

Just figured I’d give a wee update.

PS: As always, going to push the Youtube Channel we have these days.

We have jumped up to the #4 slot for the Most Subscribed (This Week) – Comedians

“Places everyone! Hey! Hey! Who are you??”

Hey folks. Just a quick update on Episode 25. I know it’s been awhile since Episode 24 came out, but life’s been a whirlwind all the way around. Well, we ran into yet another delay. Adam had finished filming all of Episode 25, and I downloaded the raw footage for editing – when I noticed something. Someone had snuck onto the set during the filming… a doppleganger – just not a smart one. Because Daniel the Destructive looked the same… but he didn’t. And going back to Season One, I figured out why. There’s an old model of Daniel the Destructive still in the module – where his robes are a different color and rather than his cool, glowing staff, he’s holding a simple dagger. As it turned out, Adam filmed using that Daniel the Destructive, rather than the correct one. So Adam will be refilming Episode 25 this week, sometime. I have no idea what my weekend looks like (judging how the last three or four weeks have been… I am going to guess busy, again!) But if Adam gets the footage to me before Saturday, I am going to try my hardest to get the episode out for Sponsors by Sunday or Monday. More updates later.

And in case you haven’t been following our climb on Youtube, we have jumped from the #25 slot all the way up to the #9 slot – with all of your help and support. Now if you haven’t yet done it… here’s the low down…

If you already HAVE an existing account with youtube, it’s easy – go to the Neverending Nights profile and click the orange – SUBSCRIBE – button.

Wow! Not what I was looking for…

… but sure brought back some memories! As just about everyone knows back in the day Atari contacted us to do some NWN2 pieces for them as a promotional thing to release before NWN2 hit the shelves. We were honored. But it was a wee bit of a fiasco because we were using Alpha, and then Beta copies of the game. So things were missing, or we were unable to do things (since they would not be in the game, like they were in NWN1). Anyway, as we tried to film and do things, we (along with other Beta testers I am sure!) were finding bugs. As a result, we had a steady stream of CDs and DVDs of the game coming through our front door – what seemed to be almost weekly!

Well, while looking for another piece of software in my CDs, I came across the NWN2 CD/DVDs that were sent our way…

Neato, eh?

Anyway, the audio for Episode 30 is done and is going to be sent to Adam shortly to film. I am just looking for one more thing before I send it all along.

Also…

Just as a reminder, Episode 29 (Right Click, Save As…) is available for download. You can also watch it on Youtube right over here. Don’t forget if Youtube is your thing, you can subscribe to the Official Neverending Nights channel.

Of course, the download versions are of a much higher resolution, and they’re all downloadable for free if you just head into our video page.

And in the event you’re interested, you can also help the site and get the videos one week before the general public, as a way of us saying thanks!
