Well Adam and Amanda couldn’t show up Weds or Thurs (long days at work – and actually couldn’t blame them!), they rescheduled for Saturday but had a class to attend to that messed up the schedule! So now they’re on for today (Sunday) to be here at 11am and knock out the last of the main voices I need – then next week, I shall begin the editing with high hopes of having a new episodes by the first weekend (sometime) of March!

It’s been a long, long road – but there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel.

I just hope it’s not a train!

Just completed recording the lines with Amiee (the wife) for her role as Amiee the Armorer. Adam and Amanda had to reschedule recording time to this Saturday. So with any luck we can get that done. Shooting for the first week of March as the first release for the new episode of the Season because of this small delay! But still pretty much on track!

Well, I have been in communication with Adam and Amanda – and if things pan out – we will be recording their lines either this Weds or Thursday! Once I have their lines, I will pretty much have every major character’s lines! There’s a few here and there that are minor characters (and appear later in the series) so I am not too worried about not having their lines yet. If I can land a recording time with Adam and Amanda this week, we may yet be on schedule and get the first episode of Season 3 out in the first week of March. Keep your fingers (and toes, if you’re that talented!) crossed.

Tonight I met with my oldest friend (not oldest as in age!) Charles Stevens. He voices the lines of a new character in the series who is an Astral Traveler and helps guide our would be heroes for an episode. His wife, Tammy did the voice of our resident Seer who has glimpsed the future of our would be heroes. Their son Matthew plays the role of a young Page to a great warrior by the name of John the Journeyman (played by Alex Dartnall). And finally, their eldest (their daughter) Samantha (”Sami”) plays the role of a Smith, who will pass down knowledge that will be crucial to the final quest that the heroes partake in Season Three.

Still hoping to schedule a time with Adam and Amanda to have them come by to record their lines. They’re essentially the last set of voices I need other than a few minor ones here and there.

Travis Richards who you probably know as NeN’s Master of Music just sent me the Audio Files for a character he will be voicing in the series by the name of Dimi. There’s a part in there – where he hums something – and I am not sure if it’s intentional or not (I even just emailed and asked him) where he brought me back to memory lane of Johnny Castaway – a screen saver that was sold, eons ago, by Sierra Online (I’d link the actual Sierra Online webpage, but they have been bought out and sold so many times over, that linking to the Sierra Help Pages is far more beneficial to learn more about Sierra’s History).

Not only did he send me those Audio Files for Dimi (which blew me away! He did such a great job with the voice fluctuations!) – but he also send me a MP3 to be used for the first couple of episodes entitled “Prison.” Now he claims he’s not good on the harmonica – (though he also claims he used a +5 Harmonica of Musically) – I can not tell you how much I enjoyed the song “Prison.” It fits so perfectly well and captures the whole bluesy feel of Prison that you think about from the old days!

Travis Richards proves time and time again that his body is housing an incredible amount of talent that needs to be seen and heard by the world. You should check out Travis Richards’s very cool looking website by clicking here. You can also check out and purchase the Neverending Nights Soundtrack that he threw together for a VERY reasonable price by clicking here.

I almost died today.

Figured that might capture your attention. That’s right. I almost died.

But in a good way.

How is nearly dying ever good?

Well, when it’s from laughter. I just got the chance to listen to the tracks that Stephen Crouch has done for us as the Pawl the Dorf replacement. I could not stop laughing. He’s brought the Pawl the Dorf accent to a brand new level. I think this new take on Pawl the Dorf is really going to kick the series up a notch in the humor department! I’ve listened to all the tracks and… by the Goddess Nen, it’s full of goodness!

Step by step, we’re getting closer and closer to Season 3’s launch!

Just need to get a hold of Adam & Amanda Freese to get their lines done! With any luck we can do it sometime this weekend.

Some exciting things!

I was chatting with Alex Dartnall, who will be doing one of the voices in Neverending Nights. Well, he also happens to be a very talented musician – and I got to thinking – each season of Neverending Nights (granted, it’s only been two thus far!) – someone different has done the intro music. Jay did it for the first season. Travis Richards did it for the second season. I thought it would be interesting to have a third – and final! – take of the Neverending Nights intro theme music that’s become so well known and loved! Well, I sent Jay’s original file to Alex – and within two days – Alex had sent me his take on the song! It’s done on guitar and sounds absolutely beautiful! (He claims he still wants to “perfect” it some – I love it as it is!) So I am very excited about a new version of the NeN Intro Music!

But fear not, music master Travis Richards will still be doing the rest of the music of Neverending Nights!

Also – I just got the tracks from Stephen Crouch who is doing the replacement voice of Pawl the Dorf! Now just trying to schedule a time to meet up with Adam & Amanda Freese to get their voice tracks for Grayson & Andrea!

You can comment over here.

Not sure if you have been following us on Twitter but just a few minutes ago I finished writing Episode 65.

So what’s the big deal you ask?

Well, Episode 65 is the final episode of Season Three. Season Three is the final Season of Neverending Nights.

I just finished writing the end of Neverending Nights. The final. No more. This is it.

Neverending Nights was intended to go about five seasons; but for various reasons, it got crunched down to three seasons after taking a year and a half break from it. The script has been rewritten by me about thirty times; if not more. I wanted to wrap it up. Put a pretty bow on the series and really finish it right. I wanted to cram aspects of what we had planned for the other seasons into this third one, and yet make it feel like everything was still flowing naturally.

To give you an idea, I began sending the script to myself in gmail so I could work on it where ever I was. The first email of that thread dates back to June 11, 2009. And here we are now Feb 3, 2010. I have skimmed the entire script several times now, and I have to say I am pleased with how it finally turned out. There’s some old jokes that come back. Some new jokes I bring in. Tons of new characters that do small parts here and there. An assortment of some very special guest voices who have lent a hand in making Season Three a great ending to the series.

I think back to everything Neverending Nights has brought into my life – and I can’t help and stare in wide eyed wonder at all the amazing things that have happened. I would have never believed that in October of 2004 when Adam and I were sitting in that Safety Meeting at work – that it would birth a series that would touch my life so deeply. Everything from the interview with Bioware, to the PC GAMER UK, to meeting with the folks of Atari at E3 to do some NWN2 Machinima, to the 2005 Machinima Film Festival, etc etc (See more details in our About section of the site).

I have met some incredible people because of this journey. People I hope to keep in my life even with this is all finally over.

I want to thank all of you who have stuck by the series. Who somehow kept believing in it and stuck with it as I pushed forward. Thank you for walking with me on this path. I appreciate it more than any of you will ever know.
