The video was released on Saturday on Youtube and Facebook (see the links below) and also uploaded at the same time. Just getting around (a day late!) about posting it on the site that it’s officially out there – and also available for download.
As always, if you have enjoyed this – please share it on social media. This helps out tremendously in getting the word out to folks, who may be otherwise, unaware of the show (and yet may enjoy it!)
This is the second episode of Neverending Nights that I have re-filmed to true HD (1080p). This is the episode that begins our heroes on their quest to become would be heroes! If you enjoyed it, please share! Post it on a friend's wall, another FB page or group, that might also get enjoyment! The plan is to upload the re-filmed episodes every Saturday. The series ran originally for 65 episodes – so that's 65 weeks of goodness to look forward to!
Back in 2004, when we started this series, we weren’t sure where we were going with it. Fast forward a quite a few years, we had managed to put out 65 episodes of this series, and actually pull together a cohesive, fun, story, about two lovable characters. Back in 2004, the idea of doing these videos in “high definition” was pretty ludicrous – especially, when I feel like in the beginning, we didn’t even have any experience with machinima. So, much like our beloved would be heroes, we were a bit lost ourselves.
Now, with better computers, better video software, the idea of doing a video in “high definition” is very probable. And this morning, randomly, I decided, I am going to do just that.
While the actors who lent their voices to the series have moved away, in many cases, that wouldn’t stop me from re-filming the episode, and just using the same audio.
The difference, when I was done, was pretty mind blowing.
If you have enjoyed this video – please, PLEASE, share it – tell other people about it – link them to this post. Whatever you can do to help. It would be greatly appreciated!
Throughout our career of doing Neverending Nights, we have had some amazing highlights. Aside from being able to include the majority of our friends during the time we were making this; we got to work with childhood heroes – Greg Johnson (1/2 of the creator of Toejam and Earl) as well as Al Lowe (creator of Leisure Suit Larry). But another great thing that happened, was being interviewed by Bioware on their site – which led to a ton of exposure for us – including being contracted by Atari to create machinima pieces to promote Neverwinter Nights 2 before it came out. We got to work close with the folks of Obsidian Entertainment, and visited with them in their office in Los Angeles.
Unlike Neverending Nights, which was an ongoing story; for this, we wanted each episode to stand on it’s own and highlight various things about Neverwinter Nights 2. For the most part, all the characters carry through each episode; but there is no real connection (unless noted where it was a Part 1 and Part 2). Anyway, since we combined the Neverending Nights episodes – did the same with the Neverending Nights episodes. Check it out here.
Nearly five hours of these two would be heroes, out trying to make a name for themselves! Follow the adventures of Peter the Ranger and Grayson the Fighter, as they go on a quest to slay a dragon… that leads to them fighting ice-cube monsters, meeting goblins, meeting various vendors with all kinds of quirks, among other things! And there’s even a love story with heartbreak and redemption and surprises!
