Neverending Daze – Episode 06.

When ATARI was in the process of making MASK OF THE BETRAYER for the first NWN2 expansion, they once again contacted us and asked if we were interested in creating some promotional machinima pieces. Once again, we agreed. Sadly, with the release of NWN2, some of the characters we had used in the previous episodes of NEVERENDING DAZE were no longer available. So a new cast of characters was created; this time with only three (intended to be Adam, myself and Paul). However, Paul was unable to record, so I did the voice of both the halfling and the dwarf in this episode. The episode was made to show off various things available in the expansion (Wild Elves, some of the new classes that became available, etc), with the final being a Blue Dragon. Since the phrase “Don’t tase me bro!” was still popular (at the time) – I made a reference to it at the very end.

It All Began In 1987 or so…

In the previous update entitled ‘A New All Time ‘Lowe.’’ – I mentioned my connection with Leisure Suit Larry. Well, I wasn’t kidding. My quest for fame, as it were (and as unintentional as it was!) began long before I began my voyage doing Neverending Nights. It actually began around 1987, when I sent in a picture to the folks at Sierra with me dressed up as Leisure Suit Larry. My story begins there…

A New All Time ‘Lowe.’

So when I wrote and did Episode 55, my goal was to have one of my idols (Al Lowe) do the voice of the character. The character was very much inspired (visually) by Larry Laffer of the Leisure Suit Larry series. I was floored when Al Lowe agreed to voice the part. I almost didn’t believe it until I got the files and heard Al Lowe’s voice. It was amazing. The man I had idolized for the years of entertainment he had given me through Leisure Suit Larry was actually doing a voice for my own little series. To say I was walking in Heaven would have been a serious understatement.

Well, it looks like it’s my time to spread the word of Al Lowe again! It would seem that the rights for Leisure Suit Larry have been acquired – and they’re rebooting / redoing / reloading Leisure Suit Larry 1: Land of the Lounge Lizards through a Kickstarter Campaign!

In an all too brief video, Al Lowe proves “he’s still got it”…

Neverending Daze – Episode 05.

The Neverwinter Nights Toolset had some amazing abilities that allowed anyone using it to create some very truly custom content – because everything in the game could be resized to the builder’s desire! This was the last one we did for Atari to promote the NWN2 game before it’s release. In this episode we wanted to show case how toolset builders could modify the size of ANYTHING in the game – from houses to cats! Even Thurg is modified by the toolset, if you hadn’t noticed.
