You know, eons ago, when Adam and I started Neverending Nights – it was just something to do for fun. It never stopped being fun – but it certainly became and did more than either of us ever expected. It went from getting us a small write up in PC Gamer, to getting the first 5 Episodes on their DVD with the magazine; then an interview with Bioware.
From there, we landed in the 2005 Machinima Film Festival, then the Machinima For Dummies book we got a mention in there. What followed was Atari contacting us to do episodes for Neverwinter Nights 2 as promo pieces for fun, before the game was out.
As we wrapped up the series, I got my own childhood heroes, such as Al Lowe (of Leisure Suit Larry fame) and Greg Johnson (of Toejam and Earl fame) to lend their voices to the series – which blew me away.
So not only had I included very close friends as a part of the series – now I had these people who I looked up to and aspired to be like – also lending voices!
There’s still one more episode to do – and perhaps I have delayed in doing it because it is the final episode. After that, there are no plans to continue Neverending Nights. Perhaps I don’t want that day to arrive. But let me tell you, I have never been so thankful for such an amazing experience that has allowed me to bloom and create! To have others enjoy it as well has been an incredible bonus.
