Hey Everyone,
New Traditions and Old Problems
May. 22nd, 2006
The new tradition concerns the ink and watercolor paintings done in a style similar to Arthur Rackham.
In the process of creating the piece of artwork, there is usually a scan of the inked version before proceeding with the watercolors.
In the past we have offered both the inked version and the finished versions of the paintings. As this has not been cost effective, and generally due to the fact that the black and white versions do not sell once the finished version is released, we have started this new tradition.
The original ink version will be done in a VERY limited printing of signed and numbered black and white archival prints. By doing so these black and white versions are offered but will most likely will not be around after the completed watercolor is printed and offered.
Babies, shown at the top and Forest Walk, below, are the first images to take this route. Accompanying the print itself, is a signed certificate of authenticity for each print, identifying exactly how many are in circulation and indicating that it is in fact one of the limited editions. The prints themselves are hand signed and numbered by the artist, as well as hand titled.
Babies is printed in a limited run of only 15 archival prints 8.5 x 11 inches. As this is SUCH a small quantity of prints they will be $25 each.
Forest Walk, due to its enormous detail is printed in a limited run of 15 archival prints 13 x 19 inches. They are offered at $50 each.
The Georgia Renaissance Festival only has a couple more weeks left! We are in the same booth that we were in last year, sharing with Lady Panisda’s Fairy Houses. This booth is located in the back of the fair across from the Bird’s of Prey Stage and Parrot’s of the Carribean, and next to the new pub. Our booth is called Faire Folk Knoll.
Our beloved elves from Aradani Studios, who sell the best elf ears I’ve seen, have their artwork in our booth. Also they will be selling my artwork for the next two weekends at the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, and hopefully we will join forces at another renaissance festival later this year.
Lately I have been working hard on some illustrations for books headed your way. In order to keep better track of illustrations, they now have their own dedicated section on the website under artwork.
The Serenity RPG has been out and Legends of the Twins has also been released. I have contributed a few things to some upcoming editions involving Dragon Lance as well. Prints will be available for them. To keep up to date on the latest releases for Margaret Weis Productions, check out www.margaretweis.com and the new illustration section.
Aside from those projects, I have also been working with White Silver on some upcoming releases with another RPG which you can find out more about at White Silver’s website. Also there is a novel being released by the same company, written in that world, and I am happy to announce that it is my first cover!!! Click on the picture to find out more.
If you have been hanging around here for any length of time, you should know that we have had ongoing issues with our ecommerce section. As always, hope springs eternal on a chance to fix that.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
TO E-COMMERCE SHOPPERS
Due to growing company need and a change of gateway services, we will be revamping our e-commerce section of the site. Although you will still be able to view most of the artwork, if you would like to place an order, it will have to either be by email or over the telephone. We prefer to take your credit cards by phone, as it is safer than email. Please be sure to mention the image title, and what size or product that you are wishing to purchase.
