Per TMRiddle…

Another update on Neverending Nights? Well, here’s one… in March keep your eyes planted over on Bioware’s website… you just might see us mentioned over there – and not in the forums!

Let’s see – I will be working on edits for Episode 8 throughout the week (film and audio), if my PC permits it. My wife and Adam came together to get me a new pc – but it’s having issues with the C: drive. (It’s a used drive…) So anyway, hope to get Episode 8 done by the weekend. Episode 8 features the stunning voice of my wife, as Amiee the Armorer. It was a very fun episode to do – and I think it’s going to turn out quite all right. I honestly believe (and this is amazing with how harsh I am typically on myself when it comes to creativity of my own – well, Adam’s in this also – but anyway) – I think that each episode seems to get better and better. And I don’t mean just in video and voice editing/acting – although that’s improving – but also in writing.

While Paul was down, we recorded the audio for Episode 10 which introduces Pawl the Dorf, who was mentioned as far back as Episode 3 – and the infamous dwarf who gave our would be heroes the wonderful map they’re using!

Some more cool news – Adam got a Digital/Analog converter – one that works this time. The original one was shorting out. This one works. It’s going to require more audio editing by me, since it splits the recording into two different channels, but Adam says it makes a world of difference audio wise. I think the first episode that will feature that new recording will be Episode 9. Then it will be Episode 11 (since, as I said, we already did the audio for Episode 10).

I am looking forward to Episode 11… this is going to be a VERY fun episode. It’s the first episode that won’t star our two heroes – Peter and Grayson – or even Pawl the Dorf for that matter! Episode 11 introduces three new characters. Well, they will probably only be used in Episode 11 – but… hey, I think it’s going to be fun.

Oh – and while Adam was over, we planned out Season 2 and Season 3. We have the general ideas for the following two seasons, so if we can keep up with this – I think there’s plenty of material for us to use and enjoy.

Also, we installed the Bioware CEP (Community Expansion Pack), which will make it’s debut in Episode 11. If you have played NWN and have not seen the CEP – I highly recommend downloading it and installing it if you’re a world building. It offers some incredible new features to an already amazing game.

And I think for now… that should do it?

Special Thanks: Mark Sutherns!

I just wanted to drop a quick special thanks to Mark Sutherns of PC GAMER UK. Today in the mail, the copies for Adam and I came in. Considering it was from the UK to us here in the USofA – it was an incredible gesture of kindness that Mark sent the issues out to us.

So while we knew we were in the issue of PC GAMER, it was an incredible experience to open the magazine for ourselves, and see that little side panel with references to our work. And then to load up that DVD and have the first 5 episodes of Neverending Nights – plus the PC GAMER UK episode we did – all come out and play before our eyes – and to know – this magazine reached so many new people …

It’s incredible.

So once again, thank you Mark!

Episode 7: Things That Make You Go… Boom?

Our longest episode to date, this one nearly rakes in at 6 minutes! And it’s gonna be costly on your download time and our precious bandwidth! If you head into the video section, you will see that Episode 7: Things That Make You Go… Boom? (Right Click SAVE AS…) is available for download… but this one weighs in at 74 megs zipped! I imagine if this keeps up, we will eventually be offering Hi-Res and Low-Res versions of the video.

And naturally, after you check it out, head into our forum and let us know what you thought of the episode. (And of course, if you have not already – just jump into any conversation that’s to be found there!)

Oh, and if you have not already – something I recommend for any Neverwinter Nights, or Bioware fan, is to sign up for their montly newsletter. It’s a great way to keep current on what they have planned for the future, new patches for various games, general news, and just all around cool stuff. Sound good? Trust me, it should! So head over to Bioware’s site and sign up now for the newsletter!

Per DiMono…

… I need a new journal entry. Well the way I figure, no one swings into here to see what madness I may be rambling about. Especially since most of it is on the Neverending Nights.com site…

But here we go!

If you have not already, please check out DiMono’s cool contest – asking folks to generate a video to the music of “A Girl Named Tex” using RvB footage! Well all the submissions are in – and if you have not already – get in there and check out the videos and vote! Sure, we’re not as good at this editing thing as the folks at Rooster Teeth, but hey – it’s great tunes, to some great RvB footage, so I think you can overlook some of our bad editing. (Well mine, others have some kick arse stuff in their videos!)

Also, mentioned it before in the thread – might as well mention it here. Our own Machinima, Neverending Nights (URL is up there), was mentioned in PC GAMER UK in Jan 2005. Still waiting on our copies of the issue, but from what people said – they seem to like it. So that’s a good thing.

And to top that off – recently – Bioware got in contact with me and asked me a few things. And in a month (I thought it was gonna be this Weds, my bad!) – you will see us mentioned on the Bioware website! So that’s very exciting for Adam and I. I won’t reveal too much more about it (no, they’re not asking us to do a DVD version or anything – but that is something I am still hoping to get permission to do when we finish up Season 1, which ends with Episode 21).

Other than that, my wife left to go out of town till Sunday yesterday – and I just have to say that I miss her already and love her very much.

Oh – speaking of that – if you’re female and you’re in the San Diego area, please check out Smartgirlz.org – and if you know any females in the San Diego area, please pass that URL in their direction – or to anyone who you think might be interested. (They sell shirts too – and those go anywhere in the United States).

Oh! And in our Neverending Nights episodes – some of them feature music by T.West (most noticably the Valentine’s Day SideQuest, for the ending credits) – you can check out her website with the CD information, tour dates, etc over at twestcd.com!

And I think on a final note for now – as always, please check out, pass around, the word and fine art of Lindsay Archer goodness!

And with that, I think I will wrap this up.

Is that good enough for making up for loss time, DiMono? 🙂

The Big Secret?

Well, looks like I was somewhat wrong… it’s a little better than I had originally thought! I thought this Weds we could reveal what this little thing is that we’re all giddy about… but it’s going to be sometime next month! One little hint – keep an eye out over at Bioware.com! It’s not the big time (no they haven’t hired us or anything like that – yet! – but that plan of mine is still in motion! Baby steps, Tawmis… just remind yourself, baby steps!).

Also, last night I finished editing Episode 7. I actually really liked how it came out. We tried a few new methods, and I really like it. But don’t go scampering off to the video section yet. It’s not there. Going to pass it to Adam first and let him check it out. Then we will make it available.
